Do Thai ppl treat old and Antique thai amulets as precious and holy object like Diamond and Gold?
How many of the thais like to collect and wear a lot of thai amulets
Not every Thai collects Amulets but lots of families keep at least one for good luck . In Thailand people are Buddhist and most temples has its own Amulet . As people want something from the temple or want to enhance good luck they will buy it . Usually these are just a few Baht unless it is very old indeed
Since the Amulets has reference to a Thai’s sacred religion and powerful monks you can bet its treated will utmost respect and care .
There are some in Thailand who are crazy of Amulets . Usually men as hardly see ladies so much interest beyond wearing one given to them .These men buy magazines and have a large collection and will pester all the aged people in the village for the amulets as the good ones appreciate in value . The really good ones can really fetch so high a price and cost more then its weight in Gold / or precious stones .Its a pass time to show off what you have and refer to your magazine !
